Help judge student journalist staff portfolios
This website has been put together to help judging panels with their work. It will go dark once your work is completed. Links to portfolios for students selected to join the Student Journalist Staff will be published on MIPA's website.
Judges will work in one of judging panels led by a MIPA board member to evaluate portfolios submitted by graduating seniors. Separate judging panels will be formed for each of the concentration areas of the staff:
news writing
news design
yearbook writing
yearbook design
broadcast
photojournalism
digital media
No adviser, including the chair, may sit on a judging panel in which one of their students is competing.
You'll be able to do your work remotely - some committees may choose to have discussions via email or phone or web conference. Committees do not meet in person.
This is a great opportunity not only to see some great work, but to see what it takes to assemble a top-notch Student Journalist Staff portfolio.
Judges are assigned to judging panels by the MIPA office to avoid conflictsÂ
Work starts ASAP and must be completed NO LATER THAN THURSDAY, March 7 so that we may make final selections.
Thanks!
